On the morning of October 18, the 2024 China International Consumer Electronics Expo (hereinafter referred to as CICE) officially opened at the Qingdao International Convention and Exhibition Center (Hongdao Hall). Under the theme "Green Leadership, Digital Future", the event brought together over 300 domestic and international consumer electronics enterprises across 50,000 square meters of exhibition space, showcasing the latest technologies, products, and trends in the consumer electronics industry.
As the only national-level professional exhibition in Shandong Province, CICE is organized by the People's Government of Shandong Province and co-hosted by the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products, the Chinese Institute of Electronics, and the People's Government of Qingdao. Since its inception in 2001, the expo has successfully held 20 editions, solidifying its position as a pivotal platform for industry innovation and global collaboration.

Consumer electronics is a vital component of household consumption and a key industry in the national economy. Qingdao, a major hub for the consumer electronics sector, is home to several national-level innovation platforms, including the National High-End Intelligent Home Appliance Innovation Center and the National Virtual Reality Innovation Center. The city’s smart home appliance industrial cluster has been recognized as a national advanced manufacturing cluster, fostering globally renowned enterprises such as Haier, Hisense, and Aucma.
In 2023, Qingdao’s total output of major consumer electronics products reached 63.8 million units, accounting for approximately 9.6% of the national total. The manufacturing scale of the consumer electronics industry in the city exceeded 300 billion yuan. This year, the supply and demand market for consumer electronics in Qingdao has remained robust, with 760,000 home appliances sold through trade-in programs, generating 2.97 billion yuan in sales revenue.
